Quick Summary :
The main sources of information for Internet users and mobile users are in order: 1) info sites, 2) television, 3) social networks, 4) newspapers, 5) friends and family, 6)the micro-blogging, 7) radio, Then blogs and magazines.
What are the most consumed content? The content video, photos, tweets ... and online encyclopedias!
The most active users of the micro-blogging sites tend to transmit the content created by others and/or to make selection and synthesis of content created by others.
The pressure of the real time on the web and the mobile phone results in acceleration of exchange of information and pushes users to share (transmit) rather than content creation.
There is less user-generated content than before. However, this assertion must be nuanced: users always publish lots of photos and home videos.
The professional contents are the main sources of information: the main sites and television news, even if the social networks are not far behind.
Contents are increasingly filtered through the social networks that have become major players in their distribution to the right targets.
On which platforms Are content consumed?
According to the study access to the Internet is still largely on computer (79%), the mobile is now 7% on mobile, and 2% for the tablet.
Mobile Internet is consumed currently 50% outside (in public places or traveling), the rest being shared equally between the home and office.
The study shows a strong consumer expectations from the brand. They want to be heard, clearly, but they are waiting for more contents, it is not necessarily content about the products and the company. Consumers expect more from their favorite brands content about the world of the brand. They expect that one to distract them (especially the younger ones), but above all to increases their knowledge (the majority of all ages), and the Brand to connect them to others.
Finally, consumers continue to focus on brand sites, compared to their Facebook pages (- 15%) or their blogs (- 10%).
